Arukas

It has been a few weeks since my last post, and I apologize to anyone who happens to be keeping track of such things.  Because I work in retail, this is an extremely busy time of the year for me, and though I have found time to keep up with my drawing, I have not found the extra time to update my blog.  I have been spending much of my time making Christmas gifts, many of which include Zentangles.  Since the challenge this week was to use the new tangle Aruka, I decided to work it into the gift I was working on for my father.  Because Daddy is unlikely to check out my blog, I thought it safe to post the finished project. I will be posting some of my other Holiday projects after Christmas, so as not to give away any surprises to gift recipiet=nts who may also follow my blog.  So here is my Dad's Christmas gift...

I found a picture of a Tangled Cowboy Boot in Jane Marbaix's book "Zentangle: The Inspiring and Mindful Drawing Method".  I thought the boot was a great idea, so using the outline from the book, I filled in with my own design.  I have used Arukas, Paradox, Munchin, Cadent, Inapod, Flux, Tipple, Gneiss, Aquafleur (sort of), Knight's Bridge, Spaander and Shattuck. The boot is drawn on tan toned paper with black and brown Micron Pigmas, a white Gelly Roller, a white chalk pencil, and a mahogany Crayola colored pencil.  I was so happy with the way it turned out, that not only am I giving him the original (framed), but I have also uploaded it to redbubble.com and ordered it on a travel mug.

I also have a couple Christmas Card designs to share...

Because I am unsure of whether or not I will have the time to make any additional posts during this busy holiday season,  I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who visits my blog for being supportive of my artistic endeavors.  I appreciate all of the feedback I have received, and welcome future feedback.

Happy Holidays, and Happy Tangling!
