The Diva Challenge this week was to use the tangle Athitzi by Seven. I mentioned in a previous post that I am a bit behind on my "Sketchbook Project" sketchbook, so I added the challenge to my sketchbook. This is a ZIA using the tangles Athitzi, Knights Bridge, Hollibaugh and Echo. The Zia is done on Watercolor paper using a blue Micron Pigma, Inktense watercolor pencils, Tim Holtz Distress Markers and Tim Holtz Distress Ink.
For my Facebook group, Square One: Purely Zentangle, the focus of the Week was Quandary. As always, this group stays with the restrictions of using a 3 1/2" white tile, black pen and a graphite pencil for shading. No ZIAs allowed. My tile started with Quandary, and then morphed into beadlines.
My final picture for this post is another spread from my "Sketchbook Project" sketchbook. I was having a lot of fun with Quandary, so decided to incorporate it into one of my project sketches. This ZIA uses the tangles Quandary, Aquafleur and a tangelation of Quib. The same mediums are used as in the earlier photo, however the left page is watercolor paper, and the right page is a pale gray cardstock.
The theme of my sketchbook is "Pieces of the Whole" so each 2 page spread will feature individual tangles on one page which I combine into a finished piece on the opposite page. I really like the way this one turned out.
As always, comments and critiques are welcome.
Happy Tangling!
