Playing Catch-Up

I have been very busy for the past couple of weeks, and though I found the time to draw, I did not make time to post my drawings. Because of that, I have lots of drawings to post this week. To begin, The Diva Challenge this week is to incorporate "The Year of the Goat" into our drawing in celebration of the Lunar New Year. I went extremely simple with this one, using only Knights Bridge, Printemps, and the Chinese symbol for goat. This was done using a white Gelly Roller, and both black and red micron pigmas on a piece of light grey cardstock.

Next up, is the Focus for this week in the Facebook group Square One: Purely Zentangle. The focus tangle this week is Strickles. Once again, I went simple, using only two patterns; Knights Bidge and Strickles. As always for this group, the Zentangle is true to form using a 3 1/2 inch tile, a black micron pigma pen, and a graphite pencil for shading.

The final challenge for this week is the Zendala Dare #97. For this Zendala I used Mooka and Cruffles in red micron pigma.

Now to post the drawings I should have posted last week.  To begin, the Diva Challenge was to create a "Valentangle". This is the main reason I failed to post last week. I decided to go large with this one, and worked on an 8 1/2 by 11 piece of cream cardstock. I used the the tangles Printemps, Florz, Bales, Cadent, Heartvine, Tagh, Aah, Hurry, Munchin, Shattuck, Knights Bridge, Tipple and a tangelation of Rixty. The drawing was done with a black micron pigma, and then colored in with Tim Holtz Distress Markers.

The Focus last week for Square One: Purely Zentangle was Huggins. For this I used Huggins and Meer.

And finally, the Zendala Dare from two weeks ago, # 95. For this Zendala I used Knights Bridge, Strickles and Aura Knot.  I really like the way this turned out.

As always, comments and critiques are welcome.

Happy Tangling!
