I have been working very hard to complete my sketchbook for the Sketchbook Project, and though I have been drawing regularly, I failed to make a blog post again last week. The deadline to send in my sketchbook is March 31st, so hopefully I will not fall behind anymore after this month. For now, here is the Diva's Challenge for the week...A Duotangle using Poke Root and Cubine. I used Tim Holtz Distress Markers for the color. I am not thrilled with the results on this one, but I don't hate it either.
The Diva's Challenge last week was to use Unbatz, and I am much happier with the way this one turned out. I did this one in my sketchbook on tan cardstock, using brown and black Micron Pigmas as well as a white Gelly Roller and a white chalk pencil. The tangles I used in addition to Unbatz are Paradox and Striping.
The Square One: Purely Zentangle Facebook group focus for last week was Bunzo. Because I am working on my sketchbook, and it falls outside of the original Zentangle requirements (3 1/2" white tile, black pen and graphite pencil only), I did not post this to the group. I did however want to share it. The tangles used are Bunzo, Fescu, Flux, Springkle and GrassLeaf. I used Bic Markits for the small color accents. I really like how this one turned out.
Finally, I would like to share a page from my sketchbook which I did without any blog, group or other prompts. This drawing is also done on tan cardstock, using black and brown Micron Pigmas, a white Gelly Roller, Tim Holtz Distress Markers and Inktense Watercolor pencils. The tangles used are Featherfall, Enyshou, Diva Dance, Beadlines, Shattuck, Meer, Onamato and a tangle whose name I can't remember, but which makes lovely hair.
As always, comments and critiques are welcome.
Happy Tangling!

Wow, Stacie, what a lot of beautiful work. The Umbatz one is my absolute favorite.
ReplyDeleteI like your challenge entry for this week! So sweet pokeroot!
ReplyDeleteAnd the challenge entry for last week is amazing! I love it!
All of your pictures are beautiful!
Lovely colorful creations! The unbatz is really my favorite, as that for me was the most challenging, and of course it is interesting to see something so extraordinary with that tangle from some one else's imagination.
ReplyDeleteI love the earthy colors in your cubine/pokeroot tile! I have new inspiration for my Tim Holtz distress markers; thanks! All of the tiles you've presented are just lovely. I especially enjoyed the lovely lady with the 'tangled' hair!
