Earth Day

The Diva Challenge this week was to create something for Earth Day. On Monday I was shopping at Michaels, and came across an awesome piece of plywood with a map of the earth lightly etched into it. I knew right away that it had to be tangled! I was delighted when I got home with my purchase, only to read the Diva's Weekly Challenge and realize that I had an immediate reason to work on my new project.  I have been working on this all week, and am still not finished, but here is my work in progress.

The piece is 25" by 15", and I am using Bic Markits for the tangling.  I have used the tangles Arukas, Squid, Arcflower, Pia, Jonqual, Knights Bridge, Beadlines, Spaander, Tipple, Printemps, Bales, Fanz, N'zeppel, Shattuck, Meer, Crescent Moon, Diva Dance, a tangelation of Cadent, Dex and Sez.  I think that is all, but I may have missed a few.  I will be painting the land portions a solid light green to make them pop, and also will be adding some shading to the water areas using a light watercolor wash.  I will post the finished product next week.

I also completed a standard tile using Inapod and Jetties which was the Square One focus last week. The color was added using Peerless Watercolors and Tim Holtz Distress Markers.

Finally, I did a Zendala using the Zendala Dare Template #45 on kraft paper. The tangles used are Inapod, Paradox, Crescent Moon and Striping. I really like the way this one turned out.

In addition to all of the drawing I have done this week, I had a chance to add a couple of things to RedBubble, and think that my Arukas Scarf looks amazing. Check it out for yourself.

I also received the link for my Sketchbook Project digitized sketchbook this week. My sketchbook will be touring the US this year along with thousands of others from around the world.

As always, I love to get comments and critiques.

Happy Tangling!

    1. Thank you, I have a whole shelf full of things just waiting to be tangled! I will post them as I get to them, but they include a mirror frame, a pencil box, a pair of white jeans and several jewelry boxes.
