Straight Lines

I have been on vacation this week, which has given me lots of time to draw and craft.  The Diva Challenge this week is to use only straight lines. My first drawing for the challenge is on an ATC using a Dreamweaver Stencil as my string, repeating lines for the Nautilus and a background of Floorz. So as not to use any curved lines, I drew all of the lines with the stencil in place, rather than outlining the openings as usual.

The second drawing I did for the challenge is also my entry this week for the Facebook group Stacked and Tangled. The primary goal for the idea of the week in this group is to tag the tangles in each stack. This is done on the group page where this is posted. The tangles used are Knights Bridge, Paradox, Dex, Shattuck and Cubine. I am showing a shaded and unshaded version, the unshaded version will hopefully find its way into a handmade coloring book I am working on.

I also did a Zendala for the Stacked and Tangled group, using Flux, Sippy, Inapod, Spaander, Arukas, Stature and Chakras. The small pop of blue was added using Peerless Watercolors.

The focus tangle for the week in the Square One groups is Purk. Because it is nothing but curves, I was unable to work it into the Diva Challenge, but here it is with Featherfall on a tan tile.

And finally, because I have had plenty of time to play with new things, the next several pictures are tiles, bookmarks and ATCs I marbled using the shaving cream and alcohol ink technique. These will become backgrounds for future drawings. Sorry there are so many, but I just couldn't choose which ones to leave out.

I love how these came out, and they were so easy to make.

As always, I welcome comments and critiques.

Happy Tangling!

  2. Wow, that marbling looks very nice. You're gonna have fun with those, I just know it. Your zendala wreath for the Stacked and Tangled FB page is completely amazing. The way you have Arukas sort of setting on the edge and wrapping around the curve. VERY cool.
